Keith “Sam” Dorman, age 90, left this earthly life on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. He was born on May 27, 1927 on his father’s 23rd birthday in Haddam, KS to James Ralph & Elsie E. (Cornwell) Dorman.
He attended school in Haddam. He married Bernice “Winnie” Windhorst on Dec. 27, 1951 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concordia, KS. Sam and Winnie were happily married for 53 years. She preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 2004. He was an area farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, Charter Member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Club, NCK Saddle Club, Cloud County Tractor Pullers Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, FSA, Cloud County CO-OP, Rural Water Board, Life Member FFA, Optimist Club, Concordia Country Club.
Sam and Winnie enjoyed traveling to Yuma, Arizona with the snowbirds and spending time at their lake house at the Lovewell Lake. He was an avid golfer, card player, and joke teller.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Beth Turner (Clayton), Wichita; Kay Berk (Brad), Concordia; son, Bill Dorman and companion Vickie, Hancock, MI., 9 grandchildren, Brice Berk, Samantha Kirkendoll (Deven), Morgan Henderson (Casey), Mason Ruiz, Mason Berk, Colton Berk, Tyler Dorman, Joe Berk, Lindsey Berk, 1 great grandchild, Liliana Kirkendoll; brothers, Jim Dorman (Janet), Canadian, TX, Glen Dorman, Lehigh, IA, Jack Dorman (Ardy), Harcourt, IA, & Ronnie Dorman (Janet), Concordia & sisters, Marilyn Dunn (Jack), Phillipsburg, Betty Herron (Mike), Harcourt, IA., sister-in-law Karen Dorman of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice “Winnie” Dorman; his parents; sister, Illa Fielder and brother, Loren Dorman.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Janai Robinson-Makarov and Pastor Earl Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
