Kansas now has an age requirement for people who run for governor.

A bill signed into law by Governor Jeff Colyer on Friday requires candidates for governor and lieutenant governor be at least 25-years-old. The measure also requires all candidates for attorney general to be licensed to practice law in Kansas.

The new requirements will take effect in time for the 2022 election.
