Erma Pearl Norman, 92, of Salina, passed away at her home Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born April 18, 1926, in Topeka, to Claude and Clara (Engel) Norman.

Erma graduated from Herington High School in 1944 as class valedictorian. After college she began her career as a teacher, serving a one-room school in District 4 (Morris County) near Latimer, Sunset Elementary, Salina, Berean Navajo Mission School near Bloomfield, N.M., and Hawthorne and Bartlett Elementary, Salina, retiring from USD 305 in 1986.

Erma loved children, cooking, and her Precious Memories Figurines. She was a 60-plus year member of Faith Bible Church, Salina, also serving as church secretary for many years. She was blessed to support many missionaries, in many capacities, the Awana organization, and the ministries to young women of Faith Bible Church.

Survivors include: sister-in-law, Elaine Norman; nephew, Pastor Stan Norman (Beth); great-nephews, J.C. (Melissa) and Bryce Norman; great-niece, Kendra Norman; great-great-nephews, Colby and Caleb; twin great-great-nieces, Piper and Tyndall; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and brother, Rev. Charles Norman.

Visitation will be Noon–8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with family greeting friends 5:30–7.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Faith Bible Church, 2100 Quincy St, Salina, with a luncheon to precede the service at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service at Rosebank Cemetery, four miles south of Hope.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Faith Bible Church, or the Slavic Gospel Association, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
