Salina Police are investigating after a woman is fooled over the telephone.
According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, a 35-year-old woman in Salina received a call on Tuesday, from someone claiming to be with a utility company.
The caller convinced the homeowner in order to qualify for an upgrade with some home appliance repairs, she would need to purchase a prepay Green Dot Card and transfer the amount back to the caller.
Police say she sent the scammer $600 before contacting authorities.
