Arthur “Art” C. Hockman, age 84, entered into rest on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born November 1, 1933 in Cloud County, Kansas to Irvin and Mary (Dunphy) Hockman.
He was a 1951 graduate of Clyde HS.
Art served in the United States Army from 1957 – 1959 and then entered the United States Army Reserves and was honorably discharged on February 28, 1963.
Art was the Superintendent for the Clyde City Water Department for over 30 years.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post #7515, Lions Club all of Clyde. For many years Art was involved in numerous volunteer activities within the Clyde community.
Art enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending activities for his nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He is survived by his sisters, JoAnne Balthazor, Clyde, KS; Genevieve Jones (David), Clyde, KS. & Gloria Naillieux, Valparaiso, IN.; many nieces and nephews & great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Mary.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 1:00 P.M.–8:00 P.M. with a K of C Rosary Service held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, evening at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Family will receive friends after the K of C Rosary Service.
Mass of a Christian burial will be held 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde, Kansas with Fr. Steven Heina officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #7515 of Clyde.
