Harold D. Kearn, age 90 of Concordia, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 at the Bethany Home, Lindsborg, Kansas, where he has resided for the last 3 years. He was born on Feb. 17, 1928 in Troy, Kansas to George W. & Dottie O. (Thompson) Kearn, Sr.
Harold grew up in Concordia and attended Concordia Schools during his younger years.
Harold joined and served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1948-1953 where he received the Purple Heart Award. He also served for 10 years in the Kansas National Guard and was honorably discharged.
Harold married Maxine M. Eis on January 1, 1951 in Concordia, Kansas. He was a custodian for USD 333 School District in Concordia until his retirement in 1988. After retirement Harold continued to work for the USD 333 School District until the age of 70. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church, Concordia.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, Lindsborg; 2 sons, Gary Kearn (Helen), Salina, KS.; Terry Kearn (Kelley), Harrah, OK.; 2 daughters, Kathleen Bazzano (Carmen), Merrimack, NH.; Susan Mills (Kurt), Palmyra, NE.; 9 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Matthew Kearn, brother, George Kearn, Jr. & sisters, Dollie Appleby & Lucille Snyder.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Wesleyan Church, Concordia with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.
Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military honors conducted by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588.
Visitation will be Friday, August 10, 2018 from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm with the family greeting friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
