The coldest air so far this fall is coming.

According to the National Weather Service, a strong cold front will usher in the frigid air. The coldest air of the season will move into the area Monday causing temperatures to plummet.

Temperatures will peak in the lower 50s by midday, then steadily fall into the upper 30s.

Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 30s. Then there will be a slow warming trend beginning Wednesday. By Friday a high will reach the lower 50s.
