Marvin L. Fahring, age 68, of Attica, KS (formerly of Concordia, KS), died Monday, August 06, 2018 at Attica Long Term Care, Attica, KS. He was born on Dec. 26, 1949 in Stafford, KS to Gordon W. & Virginia (Nolind) Fahring.
Marvin graduated from Concordia High School in 1968 and Ft. Hays State Univ. in 1972. He married Carol Greene on Nov. 26, 1971 at The Baptist Church, Concordia. He was a night supervisor at F&A Food Sales until his health made him have to retire. He was a member of The Wesleyan Church, Concordia.
Marvin loved singing and sang for many years in a quartet and at his church. He also loved working with wood and spent many hours in his woodshop. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts earning his Eagle Scout designation. He hunted but loved to fish!
He is survived by his wife, Carol, Attica; son, Jason Fahring (Michelle), Attica; grandchildren, Emme, CT, Addie, Jadon & Landry Fahring, all of Attica; Connie Cannon (Ken), Mulvane, KS; several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Anita Johansson & a nephew, Kirk Cannon.
It was Marvin’s wishes to be cremated and Memorial services will be Saturday, August 18th at 10:30 a.m. at The Wesleyan Church with Rev. David Redmond and Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Friends may sign the register book on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018 from 9 am to 5 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. The family suggests memorials be made to H2O Church-Attica or the Wesleyan Church in Concordia in care of the funeral home.
