Joy B. Teach, age 83, died Friday, August 17, 2018 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, KS. She was born on Sept. 29, 1934 in Salina, KS to Clyde H., Sr. & Irene B. (Lindenmuth) Brockelman.
Joy grew up and attended school in the Salina area. She married Ralph W. McAfee, Sr. and to this union, 2 children were born. She was a dietary cook at Asbury Hospital for several years until she was married to Elden I. Teach and moved to Lincoln, KS and worked at the nursing home as a dietary cook until her health forced her to retire.
She is survived by her daughter, Venetia Badger (Michael), Belleville; son, Ralph Wayne McAffee, Jr. (Becky), Stockton; sister, Jenny Lee Heath, Buckley, WA; 5 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Issac Brockelman; her husband, Elden in 1989; her parents & brothers, Clyde, Jr., Alvin, Phillip “Ray” & Alfa “Gene” Brockelman.
It was Joy’s wishes to be cremated and the family will have a private family burial service at the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, KS. The family suggests memorials to the family to be designated at a later date in care of the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
