The Reno County Health Department is investigating five cases of whooping cough.

Officials say the current cases include patients who are infants, adults and school-aged. Symptoms of whooping cough include a runny nose, a low-grade fever, and coughing fits.

Health officials are asking people to make sure their families are vaccinated.
