Law enforcement officers around Kansas are warning residents about porch pirates. Police say they see more reports of package thefts during the holiday shopping season.

Officials are encouraging people to have packages picked up by a trusted neighbor, delivered to places of employment or held by a carrier instead of being left unattended.

Police say victims of package thieves can use home surveillance to capture footage and send a picture to investigators.
