Luella Ruth Coup, 87, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 10:05 p.m., Monday, December 17th, 2018 while in the company of family members at Cedars House .
Luella was born in Hillsboro, Kansas on June 11, 1931, a daughter of Soloman and Anna (Zabel) Klein.
Luella attended the Hillsboro grade school and graduated from Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, Kansas in 1949.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was the kitchen coordinator, member of ABW and the Y.E.S Sunday School Class for many years.
Luella worked as a sales clerk for Duckwalls and later worked in the Duckwalls Coporate Office as a bookkeeper both in Abilene, Kansas. She later was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner.
Luella enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and flower gardening.
Luella Ruth Klein was united in marriage to Max Deane Coup on July 11, 1954 at Talmage, Kansas. First home together in Paso Robles, California while Max was in the service. After discharge, they moved to Abilene, Kansas; Salina, McPherson in 1967.
She is survived by her husband Max D. Coup, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Donavon D. Coup and his wife Marilyn, of Overland Park, Kansas and Joleen D. Wehrman and her husband Steven, of McPherson, Kansas; her siblings, Dillard Klein and his wife Shirley, of Abilene, Kansas, Margie Carpenter, of Laramie, Wyoming, Albert “Bud” Klein and his wife Linda, of Graham, Texas; her grandchildren Kristin L. McConnell and her husband Kyle, of McPherson, Kansas, Mark A. Coup and his wife Katie, of Overland Park, Kansas, Daniel E. Coup, of Overland Park, Kansas and her great-grandchildren, Max Dean McConnell and Sam Douglas McConnell.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.
Funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church, Mcpherson, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 28th, 2018 with Reverend Timothy Conner officiating.
Burial will be held at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
