A 22-year-old woman was treated at Salina Regional Health Center after being hit repeatedly and strangled by a male acquaintance on Saturday.
Authorities booked 21-year-old Javon Lee Burse of Salina into jail after he turned himself into police on Saturday afternoon.
According to Police Sergeant Jim Feldman, the woman recounted to officers how a disagreement led to the assault and Burse reportedly strangled her and struck her multiple times. She said at one point he would not let her out of a vehicle, hitting her while driving to the 1000 block of N. 5th where she was finally released.
A short time later she was treated at the hospital and police were called.
Burse is now facing multiple charges that could include aggravated domestic battery, criminal threat and kidnapping.
