Memorial services for Arthur D. “Art” Wedel, age 92, of Rural Tampa will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene with Pastor Stan Norman officiating. Mr. Wedel passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his home.
He was born December 6, 1926 in Canton, Kansas, the son of Cornelius “C.C.” and Helen (Ratzloff) Wedel. Art was a farmer, electrician and livestock feed salesman, but his love was wheat farming. He loved to read and memorize scripture and spend time with his family.
On September 14, 1952 Art was united in marriage to Violet L. Schmidt in Rich Hill, Missouri. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Violet. He is also survived by his daughter Dawn Wedel of Scottsdale, Arizona, daughter Pam Adema and her husband George of Castle Rock, CO, and son Loyal of Tampa, Kansas. Arthur has two living grandchildren, Grayson Wedel of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Christie Adema of Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by his brothers Glenn Wedel, Harry Wedel, and sister Laverna Redger.
