Norman D. Reed, 91, of Salina, passed away Monday, January 14th, 2019.
Norman was born on October 29, 1927 to the late Harry and Leona (Walker) Reed in Ottawa County, Kansas.
Norman attended Union #1 Grade School and Miltonvale High School. He was employed for 39 years at Stannard Construction in Wichita where he was a Paving Foreman.
Norman was first married to Donna Foster in 1958. They had one daughter, Victoria. Norman married Dellavea Fry who had two daughters, Carla and Debra, in 1975.
Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golf and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed visiting with others about the paving he had done.
Survivors include his wife, Dellavea (Del) of the home; daughters, Vickie Leis (Paul) of Wichita, Carla Kaufman (Rick) of Wichita, and Debra Hanson (Dennis) of Fresno, California; and a brother, Ronnie Reed (Linda), of Longford.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Cheryl Coonrod of Temecula, California, Brent Hilbig (Deena) of Salina, Kari Coles (Brandon) of Sanger, California, and Devin Coonrod (Betty), of Clearwater; great grandchildren, Brenton & Zachary Hilbig, Kaylee, Tyler and Cody Coles, Jacque and Julianna Olson, and Taylor Hilbig; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norman is preceeded in death by his brother Clayton Reed (Betty) and a grandson, Brandon Hilbig.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio Street, Salina, from 1:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
Funeral service will be Thursday, January 17th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Liberty Cemetery in Ottawa County.
Memorial contributions may be made out to Hospice of Salina, sent in care of the funeral home.
