A teenage boy accused of shooting at Kansas state troopers was taken into custody.
Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents served an arrest warrant for the teen at Saint Francis Community Services in Salina where he had been held since his release from a Kearney, Nebraska hospital.
The 15-year-old was arrested for attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and booked into the Sedgwick County Juvenile Detention Facility.
The teen allegedly restrained, beat and strangled a 66-year-old woman at a rural Smith County home last month before opening fire on authorities as he tried to flee on horseback.
Troopers shot and wounded the teen, who was treated at a Nebraska hospital before he was arrested on Thursday.
