A Kansas High School senior earned free college tuition thanks to her basketball skills.
Herington High Schools’s Mckenzie Shippy entered a basketball skills contest at Friend’s University. When her name was drawn as part of Saturday night’s Hoops Hysteria challenge she had thirty seconds to hit a free throw, then a three pointer and finally a half court shot.
The crowd erupted after Shippy hit all three shots. The winning shot won her a year’s free tuition.
Shippy will start school at Friends University in August. She plans to major in Business Administration, and oh by the way…she will play for the women’s basketball team.
