Nadine Mabel Willems, 85, of Windom, KS, passed away at 4:15 a.m., Sunday, January 27th, peacefully, at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson, Reno County.
Nadine was born in rural Inman, Kansas on August 24, 1933, a daughter of Millie Mabel (Bailey) and William “Bill” Walter Brauer.
Nadine attended and graduated from Big Lake country school rural Inman and graduated from Inman High School, Inman, Kansas
She was a member of Windom Church of Christ Windom, KS.
Nadine was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner.
Nadine enjoyed walking, playing Bingo, listening to music especially Lawrence Welk, baking bread, canning, gardening, playing cards or games with friends and spending time with her family.
Nadine Mabel Brauer was united in marriage to LaVern Willems on October 24, 1954 at McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in rural Inman. LaVern died on April 22, 2009..
She is survived by her children, Sharon Harmon and husband Steve, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Susan Cobb, of Little River, Kansas, Linda Bailey and husband Clint, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Rex Willems and wife Laura, of McPherson, Kansas, and Anthony Willems, of Windom, Kansas; her siblings, Carolyn Johnson and husband Evan, of Walton, Kansas, and Gary Brauer and wife Marilyn, of Derby, Kansas; her sister-in-law, Pat Brauer, of McPherson, Kansas; her 10 grandchildren, Joel Harmon, Kristin Hoss (Cody), Ericka Bortz (Dustin), Jeff Bailey, Brianna Linn (Brandon), Colton Bailey, Darious Bailey, Icyanna Bailey, Zack Willems, and Benjamin Cobb (Michelle) ; her 9 great-grandchildren, Mason Hoss, Journey, Canyon, and Autumn Bortz, Natalie, Audrey, and Elijah Linn, Saya Willems, and Kyrie Cobb; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Richard Brauer; a grandson, Patrick Cobb; and her husband LaVern Willems.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson.
Funeral service will be held at Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1st, 2019 with Minister Kenny Graham officiating.
The final resting place will be in the North Inman Cemetery Inman, Kansas.
