William F. “Bill” Roets, Sr, 81, of Salina passed away Monday Jan 28,
2019. He was born Aug 6, 1937 in Wichita, the son of Joseph and
Margaret (Gleeson) Roets. Bill worked as a parts clerk for Schwan’s
Trucking for ove twenty years. He retired from the Kansas National
Guard with over twenty years of service. Bill volunteered as an usher
and eucharistic minister at his church and he was also a hospice
volunteer. He enjoyed being with family, especially his
grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, LeNora; two daughters, Mary
Ann and Lee; one son, William F., Jr.; three brothers, Dick, Gene, and
Joseph; and two sisters, Geraldine Dalton and Lois Corey.
Surviors include one daughter, Liz (Phil) Berg; two sisters, Lou
DeThample and Margie (Guyle) Hand; six grandchildren, D.J., Shanon,
Kristina, Hannah, Michele, and Lyndsi; many great grandchildren;
daughter-in-law, Barbara Roets; sisters-in-law, Sue Roets and
Charlotte Roets; and brother-in-law, Jim Dalton.
Visitation for Bill will be Friday, Feb 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the
Ryan Mortuary with Vigil Service at 7:00. Family will greet visitors
from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM
Saturday at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, with burial following
in the Mt Calvary Cemetery, Solomon. Memorials are to Sacred Heart
Cathedral.
