Update: Wednesday Morning High Speed Chase

Salina Police released additional information regarding the participants in a high speed chase that ended in a couple of arrests.

According to Police Lieutenant Jim Feldman , officers took 19-year-old Tylan Ensz of Salina into custody on Wednesday after he allegedly led authorities on a high speed pursuit that reached speeds of 50 mph.

He’s now facing numerous possible charges in the case that could include felony flee and elude, reckless driving, felony theft and possession of methamphetamine.

Twenty-one-year-old Molly Griffin of Salina was also arrested.

Griffin allegedly gave officers a false name and could face charges for felony obstruction and possession of stolen property.

A third male, who exited the vehicle on Water Well Road before the chase began is not facing any charges in the case.

A chase Wednesday morning that started as the result of a reported stolen vehicle ended with three people taken into custody and the recovery of the vehicle.

Police tell KSAL News the incident began with the report of car stolen from the Log Cabin Motel at 440 N. Broadway. A pickup truck which was spray painted black was reported to possibly be involved.

Within a few minutes police located the spray painted truck. When a traffic stop was attempted the truck, which had three people in it, fled.

As the chase progressed one passenger was dropped off on Water Well Road and the other was dropped off at the Kwik Shop convenience store on Schilling Road. Both were taken into custody.

The chase weaved through areas of south, and southwest Salina. It ended when the driver of the truck pulled over in front of a home at 1513 Cloud Circle and surrendered.

Along with taking the three people into custody police also recovered the car which had been reported stolen.

Names of those involved were not immediately available.

Police say there were no injuries in the incident.
