Joseph John Schwaiger, 91, of Salina, passed away Sunday, March 24,2019. He was born August 3, 1927 in Sidney, Ohio.

Joe served in WWII as a seaman First Class. He worked 45 years as a Paper Folder in Sidney, Ohio. He was an avid runner and completed many marathons and Iron Man competitions right up until the age of 90. He was proud to have hiked the entire Appalachian Trail. He also enjoyed writing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents Florian and Katherine (Anthony) Schwaiger; wife Dorris (Weissinger) Schwaiger; daughter Suzanne Bergman; Daugher in-law, Kathy Schwaiger; brothers Marcel Schwaiger, William Schwaiger; sister Mary Louise (Schwaiger) Shuster.

Survivors include his, children, David Schwaiger (Diana), Kurt Schaiger, Mark Schwaiger (Susan), Frank Schwaiger (Rhonda), and Sam Schwaiger (Deanna); 17 grandchildren; 38 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held in Ohio at a later date.
