Keys on Floorboard Leads to Stolen Vehicle

Authorities are looking for a subject in a hoodie after a vehicle was stolen from downtown Salina.

Police Capt. Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that video surveillance shows a subject in a light colored hoodie walking around the vehicle before getting in and driving off at 3:12 p.m. on Tuesday.

The victim, Shawna Wylie, parked the 2002 gold Dodge Durango in the 100 block of E. Iron to go shopping. Wylie left her keys on the floorboard and the vehicle unlocked.

The video surveillance from the area shows once the subject drove off, the vehicle went down an ally in the 100 block of S. Santa Fe.

The Durango is valued at $2,500. It has a Kansas Tag: 860-LUS.
