Robert “Lynn” Griffiths, 59, of Salina, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born June 5, 1959, in Salina, to Robert I. and Donna M. (Walker) Griffiths.
Lynn spent his early childhood in Talmage and Rural Center. His family moved to Bentonville, Arkansas where he attended high school. His senior year of high school, his family moved to Indiana where he graduated from Zionsville High School and participated in basketball and track. Upon graduation, Lynn moved to Abilene and worked for the Clorox Corp. However, his love of the northwest Arkansas area, spurred him to return to Bentonville where he worked for Tyson Foods and the City of Bentonville.
He was a talented carpenter and landscaper. He enjoyed gardening, building model cars and a light airplane, and rooting for his favorite teams, the Razorbacks and Denver Broncos. His most cherished moments where those spent with his daughter, Kendal, feeding ducklings and listening to his mother singing. Lynn had a spontaneous sense of humor. His charming personality will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Lynn is survived by: his daughter, Kendal Shaw (Michael) of Rogers, Ark.; his mother, Donna Griffiths of Salina; sister, Sherri Carlton (Paul) of Houston, Texas; and brother, Larry Griffiths of Topeka; nieces and nephews, Christa Carlton, Matthew Carlton (Megan), John Paul Carlton and Alexis Griffiths. He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, in Woodlawn Cemetery near Carlton, Kan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, KS 67401.
His family is grateful for the wonderful care he received from Kindred Hospice personnel and from the caregivers at Kenwood View, Salina.
