A Salina organization is planning to celebrate an international event, Print Day in May.
According to the Salina Art Center, this Saturday is Print Day in May and they are celebrating with freeĀ hands-on activities exploring printmaking.
Printmaking is unique in its ability to be a flexible and forgiving medium, lending itself to all skill levels and encouraging experimentation. It is a democratic medium, allowing artists to make, reproduce, and distribute their work for a larger audience.
By providing a creative synergy and a forum for sharing and building community, this event unites printmakers worldwide and fosters a better understanding and appreciation of printmaking.
Everyone is welcome to the Print Day in May event. It’s this Saturday from 2-4pm at the Salina Art Center located at 242 S. Santa Fe.
Funding is provided by a grant from the Kansas Museum Association.
