A Salina teen faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing a gun and using it to make threats against a 16-year-old male.
Police Capetian Paul Forrester told KSAL News about the following correlating cases.
Mr. Kinnard of Salina noticed Saturday morning that someone had stolen his vape pen, vape juice, Ruger P89 and ammo. He parked his car in his driveway on E. Neil St. around 5:30 PM on the 10th but didn’t lock it. The total loss is estimated to be approximately $405
On May 12th at 10:00 PM Police were called to the 800 block of Navajo for criminal threats. According to the concerned mother of a 16-year-old male, Benjamin Swanson (17) of Salina sent a video to the 16-year-old on Snapchat. The video included a handgun and various threats to the younger male.
Police went to the home of Mr. Swanson and talked to him with his father. Officers located the handgun and discovered it was the same gun that was reported stolen the day before.
Mr. Swanson was charged with: Criminal Threat, and Possession of Stolen Firearm.
