Two For One Special

Two men were arrested on Friday thanks to observant Salina Police Officers.

Captian Paul Forrester of the Salina Police Department told KSAL News;

On Friday the 10th a law enforcement officer noticed Justice Kennedy a 24-year-old male from Manhattan outside apartments on N. 9th St. the Officer was aware of his federal warrants and called for backup. The officers approached the apartment of Justin Smull a 25-year-old, and informed him they knew Mr. Kennedy was staying there. Mr. Smull opened the door and Mr. Kennedy came out without incident.

While the door was open the officers smelled raw Marijuana and applied for a search warrant. The officers seized 11.9 Lbs of Marijuana, 186 THC vape cartridges and 2 handguns. One of the handguns was reported stolen from Ellsworth county.

Mr. Kennedy was arrested on his warrant and it is anticipated that he will be facing more charges.

Mr. Smull was arrested and faces charges including:

Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute Over One kilogram.

Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Unlawful to Acquire Drug Proceeds

No Tax Stamp

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
