Mark Allen Pelnar, 60, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 while in the company of family members at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Mark was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 2, 1959, a son of George Paul and Rodena Mae (Schultz) Pelnar.
Mark attended McPherson Elementary School, McPherson Junior High and graduated fron McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1977. He then attended Kansas Technical Institute, in Salina, Kansas.
He was a member of Free Methodist Church in McPherson
Through the years Mark worked as a Plant Manager for Bradbury Company of Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico, a Maintenance Manager for Hillsboro Industries, Hillsboro, Kansas, Facilities Manager for Finco Inc., Hutchinson, Kansas, Maintenance Supervisor for Legg Co., Hutchinson, Kansas and Maintenance Manager for Central States Marketing and Manufacturing, McPherson, Kansas.
Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, wine making, was an excellent cook and loved preparing home cooked meals, tinkering on various projects, loved concerts and music, motorcycles, enjoyed good conversation while spending time with his family and friends.
Mark Allen Pelnar was united in marriage to Margaret Dennise Singleton on August 11, 2018 in McPherson, Kansas at the Free Methodist Church. The couple established their first home together in McPherson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Pelnar, of McPherson, Kansas; his children, William Girres and his wife Sandy, of Goshen, Ohio, Julie Denise and her husband Bryan, of Kennewick, Washington, Katrina Montroy and her husband Jeremy, of McPherson, Kansas, Jerermiah Roesch, of Derby, Kansas; his siblings, Gerald Pelnar and his wife Sheryl, of McPherson, Kansas, Barbara (Walker) Pelnar, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Denise Pelnar, of El Dorado, Kansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Issiaah, Georgia, Olivia, Elizabeth, Cooper, Jonah, Jeremiah, Gracie and William; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; his 1st wife Barbara Pelnar.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Free Methodist Church, McPherson, Kansas, with Pastor Dr. David Kessler officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
