UPDATE: An incident that began with an armed robbery in Newton ended in a crash in Salina in front of a school early Tuesday morning.
According to the Newton Police Department, at 5:45 AM officers responded to an armed robbery at E-Z Trip Convenience Store, 100 S. Main. Two men had entered the store, armed with firearms.
Multiple shots were fired in the store by at least one of the suspects. The store clerk was not injured.
The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a vehicle. Officers looked at surveillance video and determined a suspect vehicle description with a tag number. That information was put out to surrounding counties and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
About an hour later Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers located the car on Intestate 135 near Salina and began a pursuit.
The pursuit ended with a crash near Salina South High School. Two people were immediately taken into custody. A third person ran north from the scene, away from the high school. After about 45 minutes he was located and taken into custody as well.
The investigation is ongoing with the Newton Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol.

ORIGINAL: A pursuit this morning has ended in a crash near a Salina school, and now law enforcement is searching for a suspect who fled on foot.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, shortly before 7am troopers attempted to stop a vehicle and a crash happened on Magnolia near Salina South High School.
Multiple subjects were inside vehicle as time of crash. One male subject ran north from scene, away from high school.
Salina South High School has been notified.
Troopers are attempting to locate a reported young black male wearing a grey sweat shirt.
Expect multiple Troopers in the area.
