Police are looking for a suspect who was attempting to steal spools of wire from Westar Energy.
Salina Police Captain Chris Trocheck tells KSAL News that a white, male ran away from the dock area at 1001 Edison on Saturday morning at about 5:45am.
A worker arrived to find the suspect lining up eleven spools of copper and aluminium wire. Police say the a perimeter fence was cut in several places and that the spools were taken off Westar trucks.
The company estimates the spools value at $2,000.
Police say because the employee interrupted the burglar – nothing was taken from the site.
