Russell E. Sleek Sr., 87, of Salina, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at his home after a long illness. He was born December 7, 1932 in Moran, IN. After High School he joined the army and served honorably for twenty years. Russ is a veteran of Korea and Vietnam Wars. Russ and Doriene were married June 11, 1955.
After he retired from the service, he worked at the Epileptic Foundation in Washington D.C. and at Crestwood Cabinets in Salina. His hobbies were woodworking, stained glass and gardening. He loved RVing, he and Doriene spent many years exploring the U.S.
He is preceded in death preceded in death by his sister and parents. Russ is survived by his wife Doriene, of the home and son, Russell Sleek, Jr; grandchildren Brad and Jenna; two nephews, Chris and Todd Moudy.
Graveside service will be private at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
