Donnis M. Pierce, age 86 entered into rest, Friday, May 1, 2020 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas. She was born January 20, 1934 in Clay County, Kansas to Emil and Alma (Allgren) Kaspar.
Donnis married Lyle D. Pierce on May 24, 1953 in Clifton, Kansas. They made their home in the Clyde Community and farmed for many years. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1999.
She worked for Skelly Gas Station in Clyde, CO-OP Gas Station in Concordia as a bookkeeper and later she worked as the Secretary at the United Methodist Church in Clyde.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clyde, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ for many years.
Donnis enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her loving grandchildren.
She is survived by her 4 children, Nancy Dugas (David), Concordia, KS; Carolyn Fair, Nevada, IA., friend Steve Caron, Clyde, KS; Janell Ross (Michael), Meriden, KS; and Lonnie Pierce (Caryn), Vancouver, WA; 7 grandchildren, Corie Dugas (Caleb Krug), Guilderland, NY; Allison Fair, Des Moine, IA; Alex Fair, Cedar Rapids, IA.; Courtney Jeschke (Jason), and their daughter, Rylee of Vermillion, SD; Blake Ross, Merriam, KS; Caitlyn Ross, Topeka, KS; several nieces and nephews.
Donnis was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, grandson, Tony Dugas, parents, Emil and Alma, and sister, Dorene Tonsfeldt.
Visitation will be held at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde from 1-8 pm on Sunday, May 3, 2020.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later time for family and friends at The Branch in Clyde.
