Phyllis J. Sundgren, 86, of Salina, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020. She was born March 13, 1934, in Saline County, to Albert and Mary (Hansen) King.
Phyllis graduated from Kipp High School and Brown Mackie Business College. On September 5, 1954, Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, John A. Sundgren, and they lived on the Sundgren family farm near Kipp, Kan. Phyllis was a lifelong homemaker and farmer’s wife and enjoyed playing cards with friends and having coffee with her cousins. Phyllis also was an active member of Assaria Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: her son, Don Sundgren (Shirley) of Salina; daughters, Linda Eagleton (Mark) of Leawood, and Jolene Ebbert (Kerry) of Ponca City, Okla.; her sister, Shirley Montis; grandchildren, Kelly Lippold (Lance), Kurt Sundgren (Jill), Tyler Eagleton (Lori Pallagao); Sydney Taylor (Andy), Sara Bradley (Kevin), and Daniel Ebbert (Megan); great-grandchildren: Emma, Bryson, and Alyssa Lippold, Anna Sundgren, Nolan Bradley, Henry Taylor and Samuel Ebbert.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Mary, and her beloved husband, John.
Due to the coronavirus, there will be a private burial for immediate family only at Roselawn Cemetery on June 23, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W 1st St, Assaria, KS, 67416.
