Walter “Walt” B. Hangstefer, 88, of Salina, passed away Saturday, July 11th, 2020.

Walter was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 13, 1932, a son of the late Myrtle (Pace) and John W. Hangstefer.

Walt served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Charlene “Shelly” (Tarbox) Hangstefer; three daughters, Laura Moody, (Steve), of Manhattan, Lisa Simpson, of Milford, Delaware, Lynda Carter, (Donn), of Salina, and son, Dale Hangstefer, (Lynn), of Milford, Delaware. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Kelley Riggs (John), Nycole Bolin (Tyler), Shaun Carter (Abbey), Ryan Moody, Brad Carter (Jessica), Nathan Simpson, Austin Carter (Megan), Ashley Hangstefer, and 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, and son, Bryan Hangstefer.

Cremation has been chosen and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
