Austin D. Sommerfeld passed away on Monday July 13, 2020. He was born July 23, 1997 in Salina, KS to Mark Sommerfeld and Patricia Smith.
Austin truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with friends and family, and a love for dogs, four-wheel drive trucks, and fishing.

He is survived by his father, Mark Sommerfeld; his mother, Patricia Smith; his three sisters, Natasha Lujan, Jessica Barta, and Allyssa Smith; his paternal grandmother, Katherine Sommerfeld; his maternal grandmother, Cindy Hoover; his aunt and uncle, David and Connie Sommerfeld; his uncles, Bob, John, Michael, Chris, and Nick Hoover; eight nieces and nephews; and 12 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bob Sommerfeld and his maternal grandfather, Ron Hoover.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Austin touched are invited to a memorial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 22, 2020 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio St., Salina, with burial following in Brookville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina. Masks will be required. Memorials, flowers, and condolences may be sent in Austin’s name to Ryan Mortuary. For those unable to attend the service, it will be streamed live at https://live.sfnaz.com.
