Bo Carl Moddelmog, 30, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 6:40 p.m., Saturday, December 12th, 2020 unexpectedly, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.
Bo was born in McPherson, Kansas on July 30, 1990, a son of Kristine Lee (Mitchell) and Brent Carl Moddelmog.
Bo attended Galva grade school and graduated from Canton – Galva High School, Canton, Kansas in 2009 where he served as class president, played football, basketball, and track, was president of SADD, was on the Journalism staff, was a member of FBLA and served as president and State District 5 vice president, a member of National Honor Society. He then attended Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas for two years, where he served as RA and on the Student Government, and graduated from Kansas University, Lawrence, Kansas with his Political Science degree and served on Student Government. Bo then attended and graduated from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas with a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Canton, Kansas.
Through the years, Bo worked for Canton Grocery, Rundstrom Accounting, Galva Rec, the KU Book Store, and was currently the Assistant City Administrator for the City of McPherson.
Bo was a member of Fellow Christian Athletes, was a member and on the board of the YP Mac and YMCA board, a member of Relay For Life, All Schools Day, and many other community organizations.
Bo enjoyed KU athletics, hanging out with his friends and family, Canton Galva athletics, FBLA, and spoiling his nieces and his canine companion, Jax. He is known by many as being outstanding for his caring and empathetic ways, patience, understanding, and ability to listen.
He is survived by his parents, Kris and Brent Moddelmog, of Galva, Kansas; his brothers, Seth Moddelmog and wife Kari, of McPherson, Kansas and Kolby Moddelmog, of McPherson, Kansas; his nieces; Charlette, Claire, Blake, and Everly Moddelmog; his beloved dog, Jax; aunts and uncles, other relatives and a host of friends.
Bo was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dwight and Connie Moddelmog; maternal grandparents, Bill and Wilma Mitchell; and an aunt Kathy Bandy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson. Please wear your mask

Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Canton, Ks. Please wear mask and burial is open to anyone.
