Maxine (Bland) Packard, 92, died Saturday December 26, 2020. She was retired and residing in Pinnacle Park Nursing home in Salina Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents Letia Simmons Bland Fagan and Amos Bland and step dad Hal Fagan.
Growing up in a rural area of Gove, Kansas afforded her the opportunity to enjoy being close to cousins and other family members that had a long lasting impact on her life. She loved to tell stories of her childhood to her children and grandchildren.
She worked several jobs in her lifetime in which she enjoyed different aspects of all of them; waiting tables at the Deep Rock Café, typing for the newspaper at the Oakley Graphic, customer service at the Best Western Motel. During these positions she developed many friendships over the years and spoke often to her family of the people she had met. She had a strong love for turquoise jewelry and often visited places in the western states that catered to the love of this unique stone and the creation of jewelry from it.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Floyd of 49 years of marriage in which they shared five children. Also preceding her in death are sons Larry, (wife Dina and granddaughter Ashley), and Randy, (wife Karen and granddaughter Jasmine, great grandchildren Randy and Gage.)
She is survived by son Mike (granddaughter Chereé (husband Benny and great granddaughter Reva), grandson Nolan (wife Amara and great grandchildren Kristine, Ty, and Austin; Tyler, Haley and Ella), granddaughter Kerry, and grandson Kyle, great grandson Trevin.)
Survived by daughter Marlene (husband Mike and grandson Andy, (wife Courtney, great grandchildren Tanner, (fiancé Sarah), Nathan, Aidan and Aniston) and granddaughter Stacy (husband Brady.))
Survived by son Terry (wife Joni and grandchildren Alexa and Chase.)
She was also survived by brother Roger Fagan and wife Dana. Preceded in death by nephew Christopher and daughter Paige Leann.
Private family services will be held grave side at Gove Cemetery in Gove Kansas. There will be no public visitation. The family would appreciate no flowers for the service.
