End of Learjet Production, Job Cuts at Wichita Bombardier Plant

A plan to cease production of the fabled Learjet is likely to prompt the loss of 250 jobs at the Bombardier plant in Wichita.

Company officials announced yesterday that the Canada-based manufacturer, which has been building the famous private jet since 1963, will cease production later this year.

Officials say the move is apt to mean the loss of roughly 16 hundred jobs in the U.S. and Canada.
