Garry Wayne Davis, 61, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021, with family by his side, of liver disease and complications of paraplegia. He was born May 1, 1959 in Lawrence to Bobby and Barbara (Mitchell) Davis.
Garry joined the Navy in 1978 and then became an electrician in 1982, joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 661 in 1994. He dedicated his entire life to helping others and working hard. Garry is the definition of a successful role model.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, and son, Elijah Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife, Kimberly L. Davis, of Salina; ex-wife, Melinda Hall, of Texas; children, Celicia Lorenson-Piersee (Adam), of Texas, Joseph Davis, of Salina, Nichole Yohe (Jeremy), of Salina, Brandy Swenson (Blake), of Lawrence, Levi Taylor, of Solomon; honorary sons, Tommy Barnes (Cheri), of Lindsborg, Wade Harper, of Salina, and Marcus Kobel, of Salina; siblings, James Davis (Kim A.), of Salina, Ronald Davis, of Salina, Michael Davis (Amber), of Okla., and Kimberly Bernhardt (Duane), of Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews.
Garry’s grandchildren were his pride and joy and he will be watching over all of them: Caleb Anderson, Eric Lorenson-Piersee, Kendall Lorenson-Piersee, Channing Lorenson-Piersee, London Yohe, Paysen Lorenson-Piersee, Nomy Swenson, Zinn Swenson, Roselina Martinez-Piersee and Wells Swenson.
