A Wichita police officer is continuing to recover following a shooting.

Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay announced yesterday that the injured officer is in critical, but stable condition and his prognosis is improving.

The officer was shot in the leg and head by suspect Tyler Hodge during a call in south Wichita on Saturday night.

Hodge was shot and killed during the altercation.
