Kansas state employees are getting expanded parental leave benefits.

Governor Laura Kelly signed an executive order yesterday that expands parental leave benefits for state employees who are primary caregivers, secondary caregivers and foster parents.

Primary caregivers will now get eight weeks of leave, secondary caregivers will receive four weeks and foster parents are also now eligible for parental leave.
