Sun Cha Miles “Cha Cha”, 68, was born in Seoul, South Korea, on September 21, 1952, and passed away in Salina, Kansas, on December 25, 2020. She is preceded in death by her father, Yong Ok Yun; mother, Dong Su Kim; and niece, Jihae Yun. Survivors include husband, Steven Kelly Miles of Salina; siblings: 5 brothers and 3 sisters, elder sister, Sun Ok Kerby of Salina and husband James (Jim) L. Kerby, nephew, James Y. Kerby of Salina, niece, Melissi Kerby of Gardner; great-niece “granddaughter” Aaliyah Sun Kerby; brothers, Suk Bong Yun of South Korea, Sun Bong Yun of South Korea, Who Bong Yun of South Korea, Suk Whan Yun of South Korea, and Chun Bong Yun of South Korea; sisters, Soon Bok Yun of South Korea, and Soon Mi Yun of South Korea; and a total of 46 nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Cha Cha came to America in 1973 and took pride in when she earned her American citizenship in 1977. She worked for Tony’s Pizza for 28 years and retired in 2016 as a sanitation lead.

Cha Cha and Steve were married on November 6, 1982 in Junction City, Kansas. They were married for 38 years and have resided in Salina since 1988. She was a devoted and loving wife to Steve whom she called “Kelly” or “Boo Boo”. She loved him so dearly and always spoke about his loving nature towards her. She always spoke about how she loved her life and how he made it the best life for her. She adorned his family because they welcomed her with open arms and treated her with such love and kindness. Her bond with her sister, Sun Ok, was inseparable and they were by each other’s side for her whole life. She was like a little sister and created a special bond with her brother-in-law, Jim. Cha Cha had a special connection with her niece, Melissi “Mish”, and her “granddaughter”, Aaliyah. Her love and dedication to Aaliyah was unbreakable and she loved her with all her heart. Cha Cha loved her 3 dogs: Annabelle, Kaliyan and Charlie. She loved to cook, bake, garden and always learning new things. She took pride in homemaking and being able to share her amazing treats and dishes with others. Cha Cha loved to travel and enjoyed thrill seeking activities like white water rafting and zip lining. She was known for her energetic spirit, loving nature, and the excitement and passion in her voice.

The memorial service for Sun Cha Miles will be Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 10:00 am at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS. Interment will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, KS.
