Thomas Andrew “TC” Collins, 82, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 7th, at Bethany Home, Lindsborg, Kansas.
Thomas was born in Independence, Missouri on October 3, 1938, the only child of the late Katherine L. (Webb) and Andrew W. Collins.
TC Graduated from Trail High School Class of 1956, served 3 years in the United States Army from September 19,1960 to September 19,1963 and then attended Marymount College.
TC worked as the sales manager for Pop- A-Shot, Salina, Kansas from 1981 until retirement in 2017.
He was the head women’s coach at Marymount college for volleyball and basketball, the head men’s baseball coach and co-coach of the Marymount ‘Spartans’ men’s basketball program. TC spent several years as a coach of youth baseball in the City of Salina. He was head coach for the City of Salinas American Legion “Falcons” baseball team. TC was also a volunteer PA announcer for the National Women’s Jr College basketball tournament and the 4A State championship Girls Volleyball and girls and boys basketball tournaments. He was also an avid bicyclist.
He served as a camp director and active coach for Heart of America Sports Camps for 30 years and was awarded an appreciation plaque from Marymount College for his 30 years of service to the Heart of America Sports Camps, Marymount College of Kansas, and Midwestern Youth.
Cremation has been chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
