Carlos Olivarez, 56, of Dodge City, Kan., passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was born on April 22, 1965 in Alice, Texas, to David and Belinda (Ortiz) Olivarez.
Carlos liked to stay busy doing what he loved to do. Fishing was his favorite, but he also enjoyed woodworking and coin collecting, and loved to go to the casinos. He was known for being strong minded and not giving up. When he set his mind to do something, he would accomplish it.
Carlos is survived by his daughters, Crystal Olivarez, Vickie Olivarez, Stephanie Olivarez, and Valeria Barrientez; brothers, Steven Olivarez, of Lewis, Danny Olivarez, of Kansas City, Jeffrey Olivarez, of Wichita, and Roy Olivarez, of Garden City; sister, Vanessa Olivarez, of Salina; 13 grandchildren; and grandfather, Adan Olivarez, of Alice, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David Olivarez.
Visitation will be Monday, July 26, from 4-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, Kan., with a vigil service at 6:30.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Salina. Burial is planned at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
Memorial donations may be made to the mortuary to help with funeral expenses.
