Sharon Kay Knight has rejoined her heavenly family and has earned her wings on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She was 80 years old.
She was born December 12,1940 in Miltonvale, Kansas to John and Maxine Matson. She married her love, Don Leon Knight, on August 31, 1966. They were married for 55 blissful years.
Sharon lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and worked in the school systems as everyone’s favorite cafeteria worker. She and her husband loved to travel and visited 49 out of 50 states! She loved to buy and wear beautiful jewelry. A fun pastime she shared with her daughter-in-love. A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a passion. Her award-winning iris garden was her pride and joy.
Sharon will be remembered for loving her family deeply. She instilled in her son strong values that have served him well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Don, her son, Jeremy Michael and his wife Lucinda, her only grandchild, Chloe Elise, and her brother, Jerry Matson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 27, from 4-8pm with family present from 5-7pm at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina Kansas 67401. There will be a small graveside service at Bennington Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 28. The address is 824 N Nelson St, Bennington, KS 67422.
