Janis E. Taylor, 74 of Salina, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was born March 12, 1947, in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Janis worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. for 2 years as a secretary before moving to Grand Island, Nebraska. There, Janis found a job as a seamstress for the V. A. Hospital for 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Vernon “Pat” and Margery (Hollibaugh) Purintun, a sister; Judy Fester and a brother; Jerry Purintun.
Janis is survived by her loving husband of 54 years; Jerry T. Taylor, a son; Justin Taylor of Kenai, Alaska, 2 daughters; Jennifer (Anthony) Hastings of Salina, and Julie Taylor and her significant other; Nick Rupard, of Chicago, Ill., her sister; Jolene (Al) Jankowski, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, 7 grandchildren; Natalie Sue Taylor, Eric Taylor, Makelti Hastings, Makaen Hastings, Makambri Hastings, Krissa Radford, and Jordan Bulin; 3 great-grandchildren, Aleah Taylor, Audrey Radford, and Peyton Radford; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, November 20, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 702 South Ninth Street, Salina.
