Clayton McFarland, 87, of Salina, KS, passed away November 29, 2021, in Kansas City, MO. He was born October 23, 1934, to Virgil McFarland and Blanche Liby in Solomon KS.
Clayton was a veteran of the Korean Conflict war and the Peacetime and Vietnam Era. He served in the Navy 4 years and the Air Force 26 years. While stationed in Japan he met the love of his life Fumi Osada and were married at the American Embassy March 29, 1967. They spent a big part of their life in and around the Denver and Aurora CO, area, finally making Salina, KS, as their final home.
They lived the last few years of their lives at the Eaglecrest Retirement Community, with Clayton Living the last year on the assisted side after losing his wife Fumi in January.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother-in-law Rolland Crocker.
He is survived by his sister Pat Crocker Salina, KS, brother Richard (Brenda) McFarland, Fredericksburg VA. Nieces Becky (Ray) Tappendick, Cindy Bonnville, Tobey (Bill) Hemmy, Penny Bonnville, Stacey Martin and Kathy (Johnson) Vasquez. Nephews Mike (Ray) Hutson-Post, Jeff (Jen) Crocker and stepgrandson Yuji Morita of Japan.
As per Clayton’s request there will be no services. His wish was to be cremated.
Memorials may be made to Eaglecrest Retirement Community or the donor’s choice in care of Ryan Mortuary.
