Gail Lee Vance, 67, of Salina, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was born on September 4, 1954, in Ellsworth, Kan., to Kenneth Sr. and Helen (Walker) Pflughoeft.
Gail was an active member of the VFW axillary, serving as the Department of Kansas VFW Auxiliary President, District #4 and #6 President, numerous positions as Chairperson, and as the Salina VFW Post accountant in the office. She received multiple national awards and was a good ear for a lot of veterans. She worked for many years at the Rolling Hills Zoo and conference center and was the office manager at Pete Workman Chiropractic. Gail’s passion was her grandkids and great grandkids, who she loved to spoil rotten.
Survivors include: her husband, Paul Vance; mother, Helen Pflughoeft; children, Stephanie Roehrman (fiancé Kevin), Chad Roehrman (Jennifer), and Erin Suelter (Todd); stepchildren, Dustin Vance and Angela Allton; brother, Kenneth Pflughoeft Jr. (Cathy); sisters, Kim Barnett (Pat) and Debbie Habiger; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: her father, Kenneth Sr., and the father of her children, Mark Roehrman.
A private memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 27, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be at a later date.
