Jay Dee McDowell, 63, of Kipp, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 11th, 2022

Jay was born in Salina, Kansas on September 13, 1958, a son of Phyllis (Bonin) McDowell and the late Irvin “Bud” McDowell.

He graduated from Southeast of Saline in Assaria in 1977.

Jay worked at Great Plains Manufacturing Land Pride Division in Research and Development for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Saline County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad. He enjoyed spending time with family, grandkids, and riding his motorcycle.

On September 21, 1979, Jay married Tammy Cameron.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy; mother, Phyllis McDowell; two daughters, Melissa McDowell, Cassie McDowell; grandchildren, Jasper McDowell, Jaxson Gould, Joslyn Rouse, Jayce Rouse, Juliana Rouse; two sisters, Linda Ash, Lisa McDowell; two brothers, Stephen McDowell, James McDowell; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Carol (Lake) Cameron; and brother-in-law, Rob Cameron.

Cremation has been chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
