Kansas drops a few notches this week from its near-pole position with respect to low gas prices.

As reported by Triple-A on Thursday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded stood at three-78, compared to yesterday’s national-average figure of four-12.

The nation’s cheapest gas can be found in Arkansas, where yesterday’s average price sat at three-74. California continues to lead the nation with the highest prices at the pump.
