Bryan Sahlfeld, 63, of Salina, passed away May 10, 2022, at Comfort Care in Newton, KS, after suffering from FTD (frontotemporal dementia). He was born in Beloit, KS, to Paul and Thelma (Peterson) Sahlfeld on July 11, 1958. Bryan went to St. John’s Catholic school in Beloit and graduated from Ft. Hays State University in 1992 with a degree in Radiology. He was united in marriage to Melissa (Duensing) on August 22, 1992, and to this union their son, Baxter, was born.
Bryan worked at Salina Regional Health Center for 24 years as a Radiology Technologist. He loved archery hunting and being in the outdoors. After a long battle with FTD he is finally at peace in heaven.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa; son, Baxter Sahlfeld (Kenzie) of Wichita; granddaughter, Millie Sahlfeld; brother, Perry Sahlfeld (Bea); sisters, Paulette McClintock (Randy) and Brenda Bonebrake (Earl), all of Beloit; brother-in-law, Edward Duensing (Amy) of Bucklin, KS; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Trudy Germaine.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 13, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Salina. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina Alzheimer’s Support Group, Rivercross Hospice, or Comfort Care Newton to support their therapy dog, Willis, all in care of Ryan Mortuary.
